When someone provides the service of selling goods it’s an offer to the public. The shopkeeper offers to provide goods. And people take the offer and go and get the goods.
Nothing special, just economy.
But the thought of it is much older and not so public.
Let’s say, I have the possibility of obtaining knowledge or if I already have the knowledge and I find out that a friend might need it. I will gladly offer to provide the info. After all it’s a friend in need.
And of course I offer my services perchance to have them accepted by the friend. I don’t offer to have made the offer. That’s stupid.
So making an offer to a friend is what I call social economy.
Now, the friend is not paying for the service of course, but here’s the deal. It’s friendship. Maybe at some point in my life this friend will have something I need and maybe the friend will be willing to give it to me. And should this not be the case then the currency we’re dealing with here can always be a thank you, a smile or the fact that the friendship can continue.
No one is forcing the shopkeeper to offer a service and no one is forcing the friend to offer the info but both do it to get something back.
The shopkeeper gets the money, the friend gets the friendship.
Not everything in life is as noble as it seems sometimes.
