Riding home on the underground today I asked myself how it is, that I always think that I'm flying under the radar if it comes to be noticed in a crowd by someone, yet if I feel - even if it's not true - that my hair is weird or my collar is frumpled EVERYBODY looks at me and notices my faults?

my guess is: because you're human. try to remember that everybody thinks approximately that exact thing. which means no one will notice your hair, because everyone's thinking about their own weirdness. that's what I like about the human race, we're easy :D
Ask yourself this:
Do YOU notice other people if THEY have weird hair or if their collar is frumpled?
How do you feel if you do? Are you empathetic or do you quietly laugh and think to yourself: what a dork!?!?
