wow, I just watched the x-files. episode 3 of season 6 - triangle.
that alone wouldn't probably be worth blogging, BUT I just watched an episode that I saw back then when they aired on TV in Germany. But I only saw fragments of it as I was doing my homework while watching. Now I know I should've been watching carefully and without so much as blinking for the 44 minutes it lasts.
what makes this episode so great? I guess back then a lot of people were already talking about it but that doesn't mean that I can't be a late bloomer and start now.
for starters, this episoded equals constant movement. it's shot entirely with steady cameras and the viewer might even get the expression that only two cameras were used. one for the present and one for the past. there is one scene lasting 10 minutes and a couple of seconds. at least that's what the impression is. with a bit of an effort one might be able to have a cut in between somewhere but the ordinary viewer might not notice and keep thinking that the camera is still rolling.
there is a sort of "making of" where a girl from make-up explains how she had to draw a cut on someone's cheek after he had been hit so that he could appear on the screen again looking hit in the face. everything without stopping the camera.
I imagine shooting like that to be very difficult and exhausting. but the outcome is amazing.
This episode is not only well done in terms of shooting, pretending to not cut and lighting and stuff. it's also fun to watch. especially if you're a german speaker like myself. who wouldN'T wanna hear AD Skinner talk german or even cigarette man?
It's so much fun.
and who doesn't like these kisses...?!...go and download it!

did you manage to find the number..
Captain oh my captain
i just read your food blog.. it is fantastic.
yes Sweetners are converted into sugars ultimately, i am a diabetic since many years, but still once in a while do a pana cotta with Stevia, topped with wild berries marinated in Balsamic.
well if you do have lactose intolerance, lets face it my dear, life ain't too great where desserts are concerned eh??
the best options really are fruit based desserts, and yes I did try a flourless chocolate cake must admit.. did not taste anything like the real stuff
after a couple of hours I finally got the number, yes. thanks for asking. never again will I do such a thing. at least I hope so.
and thanks for liking the food blog. it's actually my gf's blog, so I can eat pretty much anything, but because she can't we stick to the no-sugar-in-the-house rule and keep to stevia. but with the lactose it's not so bad. there are pills she swallows before eating dairy and everything is fine...I'll tell her you liked her blog, though. see you around.
gf said to ask you for the recipe of the panna cotta thing. she started drooling when I told her about it :) would be great thanks!
here because she has dairy intolerence, just cook soya milk with a stick of vanilla and splenda on very slow flame for about 35-40 minutes. and a leaf of gelatin and let it cool
set in a mould in deep fridge for about an hout
top it with berries marinated in balsamic, or with mangoes. or with a shot of grappa and strawberries
thanks a lot. they actually produce a lot of lactose free milk products, so we won't have to use soy milk, but thanks for being considerate...I'll let you know how it turned out, when we found the time to try your recipe.
