Spoofing Sarah

Yesternight I was made aware of an article by Ben Smith over at politico.com. Basically, it's about a couple of guys at a radio station in Montréal, who pranked Sarah Palin. I listened to the thing because I wanted to know what it's about, but in the end I thought it simply wasn't funny.
While I could've overlooked the fact that it probably just isn't my type of humor, I also think they went one step too far on that one.
They called her up and pretended to be Nicolas Sarkozy. Fake Nicolas tried to get her to say something terribly stupid about hunting from helicopters and claimed to see Belgium from his house and various other things I'm not talking about in detail here.

Sarah Palin might not be the sharpest pencil in the drawer, but I don't think that calling her up and catching her off guard just to show that is ok.
Go interview her, ask her questions she should know but doesn't (like Katie Couric did), that's fun. She doesn't really need help to look stupid. Intelligent people should realise that.
