Family festivities

We're in our dad's car getting home from a family in honor of my gran's birthday.

I've gotten used to it, but i still can't quite see past the ignorance, intolerance and lack of education that never stopped anyone from taking the loudest. Will i ever find a way to deal with that - other than sticking my fingers into my ears pretending not to hear them?
